Description:
There's a Greek Revival palace in the Hawaii Capital Historic District in Honolulu and its name is Washington Place. When pro-American elements overthrew the Hawaiian Kingdom, Hawaiian Queen Liliʻuokalani's arrest was at this historic location. Afterward this became the official residence of the Governor of Hawaii and in 2007 it became a National Historic Landmark. In 2008 the construction of the current governor's residence began behind the original home. There are free tours to Washington Place, home of Hawaii's governor, each Thursday.
